Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ

Q. Which horses will benefit from Livamol® Oil?

A: Livamol® Oil can be added to the feed of:

  • Show horses
  • Horses being prepared for sales
  • Racing and Performance horses in intense work
  • Horses on high-grain diets
  • Horses with joint inflammation and can be used in conjunction with Equine Joint Support F2
  • Horses with allergies and skin conditions and assist in muscle metabolism
  • Broodmares, including late pregnancy mares- particularly those with a history of reproductive challenges
  • Stallions to support reproductive function

Q. Why are marine oils better than oilseed/vegetable oil derived omega 3 sources?

A: Marine oils are primary EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) vs vegetable oils are ALA (alpha-linolenic acid).

  • The biological activity of marine oils is directly active (anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective) whilst vegetable oils require conversion to EPA/DHA (very inefficient).
  • The bioavailability of marine oils is high whilst vegetable oils are moderate.
  • The anti-inflammatory potency of marine oils strong especially due to EPA whilst vegetable oils are mild due to ALA is much less potent than EPA.
  • Note: oilseed/vegetable oil derived omega 3 sources include linseed, canola, soybean, sunflower, peanut, cottonseed, safflower oil etc.

Livamol® Oil

Livamol Oil® is a blend of Omega 3 fatty acids (including EPA and DHA), antioxidants and specifically selected probiotic strains.
