It looks to me that Spring is well and truly here. We have just had the 1st of our foals arrive, a lovely filly by Star Witness from Ausbred Silk and we have more to come.

Additionally our cows have been busy with 4 bulls and 2 heifer calves so far. With all newborns it is important to spray their navels with Buffered Iodine for at least the 3-5 days because their navels come in contact with the ground, manure and debris providing an entry point for pathogens. Remember to use Protexin (even before they stand and suckle) because it gets them off to a great start in life.

The more care you take with these very young animals the greater chance they have of avoiding setbacks.

Kind regards…Chris

Appreciating the hard work you put into your website and in depth information you present. It's awesome to come across a blog every once in a while that isn't the same unwanted rehashed information. Great read! I've bookmarked your site and I'm including your RSS feeds to my Google account.
