Probiotics Found to be Beneficial in Poultry

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

According to a recent article published by Feed Navigator researchers in the US have reported that the use of probiotics can improve the health, growth and performance of poultry. The researchers also found that the probiotics  were able to assist in countering the negative effects of enteric diseases, provide more vigorous birds and increase the number of good bacteria in the gut.  For chicks, health benefits were obtained by providing probiotic supplementation prior hatching. The two researchers from the Avian Immunobioloy Laboratory of Virginia Tech, Chasity Cox and Rami Dalloul, conducted the research by conducting a comprehensive review of published trial data.
